Who Needs It?

🌍 All foreign visitors entering Malaysia (tourism, business, short stays)

Exceptions:

  • Singapore citizens
  • Holders of Malaysian PR, Long-Term Passes
  • Diplomatic/Official passport holders
  • Airline crew on duty
  • Transit passengers not passing immigration

The following travelers are NOT required to submit the MDAC:

  1. Citizens of Singapore

  2. Brunei Darussalam citizens holding a General Certificate of Identity (GCI)

  3. Brunei-Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility holders

  4. Thailand citizens using a Thai Border Pass (for border area entry only)

  5. Indonesia nationals using an Indonesian Cross-Border Pass (for border area entry only)

  6. Malaysian Permanent Residents (PR)

  7. Holders of Malaysian Long-Term Visit Passes (issued by Immigration Department of Malaysia)

  8. MACS (Malaysia Automated Clearance System) holders

  9. Diplomatic and Official passport holders

  10. International airline crew members (while on duty and submitting the General Declaration form at the crew inspection counter)

  11. Transit/transfer passengers who:

    • Remain airside (in the airport’s transit area), and

    • Do not require immigration clearance in Malaysia

You can complete your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) easily online. Travelers may choose to:

Simply fill in your personal and travel details online within 3 days before arrival, review your information, and submit it electronically. Once processed, your MDAC will be sent to your email, ready to present at immigration for faster entry.
